We want everyone to feel relaxed and comfortable, so the dress code is summer suits and dresses.
If it rains, we'll keep you dry and warm inside the marquee but please be mindful that it is early May and can get very nippy in the evening so you'll probably need a warm layer. You'll be dancing in a marquee and walking across grass at various points throughout the day so stilettos could be treacherous if the ground is soft from rain.
Travel to the Church
You are able to park at the church for the duration of the ceremony before driving on to the reception. Signage and helping hands will guide you to the exact location on arrival.
Travel to the Reception
Parking is also available at the reception venue and directions will be provided on arrival. You are welcome to leave your vehicle overnight and collect your vehicle from the House anytime after 8am the following day (03 May 2026), if you'd prefer to take a taxi back to your accommodation.
Travel to the Church
We have organised coach transport from Ashford International train station to Ruckinge Church.
This is scheduled for 14:15 outside Ashford Station (Domestic Side). For those that have RSVP'd as using this transport - please make sure you are there to board at 14:15.
Outside of the above, travel to the Church should be arranged by you (you need to book in advance). See recommended taxi companies below.
If travelling down by train on the day of the wedding, the following train stations are closest to the church and reception venue:
Ashford International train station - there is a c.37 mins direct train journey from St Pancras International (London). Many other routes from London are available but the high speed from St Pancras is the fastest. Please do feel free to take advantage of the transport we have arranged from Ashford International to the Church. Alternatively, there is a taxi rank on the domestic side of the station and the Church is a 15 min drive.
Hamstreet train station – c.55 mins train journey (1 change at Ashford International) from St Pancras International (London). Once you arrive you will need to either arrange for a taxi to collect you in advance (4 min drive to Church) or catch the 11A bus from outside the station to Ruckinge village (10 min journey to the Church). We'll share the bus timetable here when it's available, nearer the time.
Travel to the Reception:
We will be arranging transport for those not driving from the Church to the House after the ceremony. Please let us know if you need a space when you RSVP.
Travel to your Accommodation:
This should be arranged by you. Taxis need to be pre-booked in advance because we are in a remote area, and it's a bank holiday.
Recommended taxi / minibus firms below:
JJ Taxis
Premier Taxis
Channel Cars
Folkestone Taxi
Prestige Taxi Ashford Kent
Ashford Noble Taxi
Ashford Minibus (for large groups)
Crosskeys (for large groups)
Please be advised that carriages should arrive to collect you no later than 1am.
The reception venue, Autumn's family home, is on the Romney Marsh in Kent. Being surrounded by countryside and villages, and also close to the sea, there are a lot of accommodation options available.
If you just want a bed for the night, you will be able to find lots of budget-y hotels in Ashford - c. 15-20 minute drive from the House - but we would recommend looking to other nearby towns and villages for a nicer weekend experience.
Rye is a 15 minute drive from Autumn's family home and is very lovely. You'll find some smaller hotels and lots of airbnbs here. There's a good variety of restaurants, cafés and lots of shops to explore throughout the weekend, and Camber beach is a short drive away.
The very popular beaches of Camber are around 20 minutes from Autumn's family home and there are countless holiday homes along this coastline.
The lesser-known beaches of Greatstone and Littlestone are a 10 minute drive from the house, and Dungeness is just under 15 minutes. There are lots of holiday homes available along the coast here that you could rent for the weekend. Beware the hotels... New Romney is far from glam and you get what you pay for. Hehe.. To get the most out of the area, you really need to have access to a car so that you can explore the coast and the surrounding marshland, and venture for nicer places to eat/drink. New Romney is accessible by foot from the beaches but you're looking at a 30 minute walk.
If you would like to stay by the sea and want to look outside the options above we recommend looking in Hythe or Sandgate. Folkestone is just next to them and is a bigger town but divides opinion...! You could get away with no car at any of these locations provided you pre-book taxis to and from the wedding celebrations.
There are lots of options on Airbnb closer to the church and venue in the surrounding areas of Ashford. Villages such as Bonnington, Aldington, Lympne, Warehorne, Appledore, Tenterden, Newchurch, Old Romney, St Mary in the Marsh, the list is quite endless. You will need a car to venture further than the village you're staying in if you'd like to explore the area outside of the wedding day.
All locations listed are not far (within 25 min drive) from the Church and venue.
Please RSVP as soon as possible.
Babies and children are very welcome! Please just let us know whether they'll be joining in the fun when you RSVP so that we can arrange suitable snacks for them.
Please look to your website invitation for named guests. Unfortunately as church/tent space is limited we don't have space for any further plus ones.
See schedule on the home page for exact timings, but we recommend having a proper brunch/lunch pre-ceremony as we won't be sitting down to eat until 6:30pm. Canapés will be arranged for the in-between drinky time, but we all know how that can go. Late night snacks will be served later in the evening to keep you dancing until the wee hours.
There is plenty of free parking at the church & reception venue, see the travel section for more details. For those leaving their cars at Castle House overnight, you can collect it anytime from 8am the morning after.
Because of accommodation options being spread out in the surrounding area, it’s difficult for us to organise late night transport. However, if lots of people are staying in one location then we might be able to organise a coach at the end of the evening. Please let us know when you RSVP where you plan on staying and we'll be in touch should this be an option. In the meantime, please book transport independently. More information can be found in the travel section, including the taxi and minibus companies we'd recommend pre-booking with.
We ask that you refrain from taking phone photos during the ceremony bit to allow the professionals to do their thing but once those church doors have opened, have at it.
If you're considering spending the whole bank holiday weekend down south, there is lots of lovely things to do in the surrounding areas. Some general recommendations below...
For a dip in the sea:
The lesser known beaches of Greatstone and Littlestone are a 10 minute drive away from Autumn's family home, Dungeness is a 15 minute drive and Camber about 20 minutes. Beware the jellyfish.
For English wine:
Many of the best English vineyards are on our doorstep: Woodchurch Wines, Warehorne Vineyard, Gusbourne, Chapel Down and Tillingham are all within a 25 minute drive of Autumn's family home (most much closer). Some do food, some don't. All delicious.
For good pub grub or a hungover roast:
There are so many delicious restaurants to choose from, especially in bigger towns such as Rye and Tenterden but these are a few of our favourites:
